System-supported goal setting process for employees and managers, with the facility to record goals efficiently and in a structured manner. It is possible to copy goals from the previous year, create team goals, cascade goals downwards, select goals from a library or generate them using AI.

 

The goals defined at the start of the process can be assessed and commented on by employees, managers and third parties. It is also possible to include job-specific skills or company values in the assessment.

 

Managers have an overview of the current status of their subordinates' processes at all times in their team overview. The skills assessments of subordinate employees can also be compared directly.

 

The system-supported feedback functions promote the feedback culture in the company.

 

In order to make (annual) goals more tangible and integrate them into everyday life, targeted activities can be recorded and tracked in a Kanban dashboard.

 

Meetings between two people can be prepared and recorded in the system. This supports the efficient organisation of regular one-to-one meetings.

 

The system makes it easy to form dynamic teams across hierarchical boundaries. These teams can use OKR to define, assign and track common goals and subordinate key results, and link them to individual performance goals.

 

A 360° feedback form can be used to collect feedback from different people, such as peers, subordinates, project staff or even external partners, in order to obtain a comprehensive overview of a person. Self-perception and the perception of others can also be compared specifically and graphically.

 

With the integration of SuccessFactors and MS Teams, employees receive reminders of due tasks directly in MS Teams and can jump to the appropriate place in SuccessFactors at the touch of a button. The feedback function can also be handled directly in MS Teams.

Frequently asked questions

SuccessFactors is suitable for both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large international corporations. The system can be flexibly customised to suit different requirements, and allows different processes to be mapped.

It is possible to map different processes for different target groups (e.g. employees with and without a management function). It is important to make sure that the different target groups can be easily distinguished by means of a specific characteristic in order to reduce the administrative effort, for example when assigning assessment forms.

Traditionally, there is a self-assessment by the employee and an assessment by the line manager. In SAP SuccessFactors, however, it is also possible to obtain feedback and evaluations from third parties (project employees/managers, co-managers, team colleagues, etc.) and incorporate them into the overall assessment.

It is possible to store what are known as "goals libraries" in the system, from which goals can be selected and customised as required. Using generative AI (artificial intelligence), it is also possible to create targets very quickly from just a few keywords. Goals from previous years can also be copied. Managers have the option of creating team goals or cascading their own goals downwards.

The scale for the performance assessment can be chosen at will. There is the option of circle or star ratings, or a drop-down menu. SAP SuccessFactors generally recommends an odd rating scale. It is also possible to completely dispense with a rating and work only with comment fields.

With a 360° feedback form, feedback and assessments can be obtained from several people such as team colleagues, superiors or external partners and compared with the self-assessment. 360° feedback forms can be used as development surveys to identify employees' blind spots and hidden strengths, and thus steer their development. Feedback can be provided anonymously if desired.

Continuous performance management can be used to flexibly plan and document interim meetings during the year or even weekly one-to-one meetings between managers and employees. It is also possible to initiate and record structured interim meetings using a specific form.

SAP SuccessFactors can be seamlessly integrated into MS Teams. If a meeting form is due in the system, employees and managers receive reminders via Teams and can access SuccessFactors directly from Teams. It is also possible to set up classic email notifications.
