The merger of Walter Meier AG with Tobler Haustechnik AG not only required technical adjustments, but also led to a reorganisation of the HR department. HR Campus established itself as a strategic partner and played an active role in shaping the corporate strategy. A central component of this realignment was the introduction of the HR Campus Suite, which optimised digital HR processes and significantly improved the employee experience.

Initial situation

Meier Tobler AG was formed in 2018 from the merger of the two companies Walter Meier AG and Tobler Haustechnik AG and is now one of the leading companies in heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology in Switzerland. With around 1,700 employees and numerous locations, Meier Tobler offers comprehensive solutions for the construction and building technology market.

The merger presented the newly founded company with numerous challenges, particularly in the HR area. It was necessary not only to harmonise the IT infrastructure, but also to redesign the corporate culture and firmly integrate the new values into everyday working life. The HR department was given a clear mandate to actively support the business strategy and to standardise and digitalise HR processes in order to meet the demands of a growing company.

Solution

Together with HR Campus, a central HR strategy was developed that put employees at the centre. Coordinated performance and recruitment processes, self-services for employees and managers, a harmonised reporting system and an intelligent, performance-related remuneration process were introduced to meet the requirements. Meier Tobler's values were firmly integrated, particularly in the areas of performance evaluation and recruitment. The focus was on simplifying the system landscape and creating a standardised user experience.

Project

The introduction of the HR Campus Suite at Meier Tobler AG took place in three phases: First, SAP SuccessFactors Goals & Performance Management and SAP SuccessFactors Recruitment were implemented to make performance and recruitment efficient. The second phase involved the introduction of UKG People Assist as an employee portal. In the final phase, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll and a time management tool were integrated.

In addition, SAP SuccessFactors Compensation, SAP Concur Expense and an interface to UKA were set up. This step-by-step approach enabled the HR functions to be efficiently integrated and automated. Meier Tobler AG was honoured with the SAP Quality Award 2020 for the successful implementation, which underlines the company's commitment and innovative strength in HR transformation.
