Initial situation

Swissport International Ltd. is the world's leading service provider for ground handling and air freight logistics in the aviation industry. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company handles around 265 million passengers and 4.8 million tonnes of air freight annually at over 300 airports in 50 countries and employs more than 60,000 people worldwide.

In the Central and Eastern Europe Area, Swissport faced the challenge of standardising HR tools across national borders, particularly in the area of Recruitment. Different Recruitment solutions were used in many countries, and even departments in the same locations sometimes worked with different tools. This led to inefficient handling of the recruitment processes, with potential synergies remaining unutilised. In order to increase efficiency and harmonise the Recruitment processes, Swissport was looking for a uniform solution that could be used across all countries.

Solution

Two years after the successful introduction of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, we activated the SAP SuccessFactors Recruitment module. Four countries - Switzerland, Germany, France and Cyprus - are now already using the new Recruitment solution. This implementation marked an important step in the harmonisation of HR tools at Swissport and significantly improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the recruitment processes.

Project

The phased introduction of the Recruitment solution in different countries made it possible to utilise the experience gained from previous modules and make the implementation a success. The close collaboration between the project teams across different locations played a crucial role in this. Thanks to the strong team dynamics and clear communication, all challenges were overcome. The continuous support and ongoing assistance from HR Campus ensured that the new tools were smoothly integrated into the existing HR processes. Swissport will continue to rely on additional SuccessFactors modules and the continuous optimisation of HR tools in the future.
