Initial situation

Hospital Männedorf, a regional acute hospital on the right bank of Lake Zurich, offers a wide range of medical services and employs around 1,000 people. As an important healthcare provider in the area, the hospital recognised early on how important the digitization of HR processes is in order to reduce the administrative burden and improve the quality of internal processes. The hospital introduced an electronic application management system back in 2013. Since 2016, it has also relied on digital event management, which is used to efficiently manage almost 8,000 course registrations. The next step was to develop a flexible solution for the performance management process that meets the different needs of the diverse workforce.

In recent years, the hospital has continued its journey into a modern and digital HR world - be it in the area of payroll or with a communication platform.

Solution

By designing a palette for different HR needs, the hospital has created a basis for achieving a high level of acceptance in the performance management process in general. In addition to the classic appraisal interview (with scale assessment of objectives and competences), a "light appraisal interview" and a "guide for older employees" were included.
Building on this, continuous investment was made in HR and the entire employee journey was mapped.

Project

Over the past few years, Hospital Männedorf has continuously invested in the digitisation of the entire employee journey. The process began with the introduction of a modern talent management system to support the entire recruitment and development process. Building on this, the payroll system called SwissSalary, which makes payroll accounting more efficient and accurate, was implemented. UKG HR Service Delivery Suite was introduced to manage documents and automate workflows. The hospital has also integrated an employee referral system from Radancy as part of the digitalization process. In addition, Beekeeper was implemented as a communication platform that enables employees to network easily and exchange information quickly.

The new end-to-end digital HR process now maps the entire employee journey and ensures smooth communication, efficient processes, and an improved working environment for all employees.
